Peace on Earth: Songs of hope from around the world!

In a time when both travel and the performing arts have been severely limited, Ragazzi Continuo is excited to bring the world to your homes this winter through our first virtual concert!

This season, we have had the incredible privilege of working with the Jacktrip Foundation as they have pioneered their groundbreaking Virtual Studio technology. This has allowed us to sing together from our own homes without the delay that you experience on Zoom, FaceTime, and other digital communication mediums. After months of practicing this new technology and our new repertoire, we are thrilled to be offering this season's program not only to our dedicated local audience in the Bay Area, but to the hungry ears of choral music fans around the world.

In processing and responding to the ongoing global pandemic, we have chosen to compose a program featuring traditional songs of hope and inspiration from around the world. Escape to a distant land with an Indonesian travel song, a peaceful South African anthem, a half-century old english motet, and powerful Gaelic mouth music. Look forward to a powerful celebration of peace, tolerance, and unity - themes that are both timely and timeless, and which are celebrated around the world, expressed now through the unique beauty of choral music.

"Peace on Earth" will be pre-recorded and streamed on our YouTube channel at 5 PM PST on Saturday, Dec 19. The program will make use of YouTube's Premiere feature to ensure that viewers from all over the world can watch and experience the performance together. Each piece was recorded while singing together live using Virtual Studio. It is a unique honor to be able to sing as an ensemble during times of quarantine, and to share this joy with our dearly missed audience. The location is more convenient than ever, and the seating at home beats even our favorite church pews, so join us online on the 19th for this groundbreaking virtual concert!
